The Salem Witch Village

The Salem Witch Village is the only "witch" attraction in Salem that actually has Witches. This 15 minute guided tour given by a modern practitioner of the Craft journeys back in time through an indoor maze that explains the history of Witchcraft. From Witchcraft's perceived prehistoric origins through the hysterias of Medieval Europe and Salem of 1692 and onto modern day practices. Come and discover the truth behind the myths, legends and superstitions and decide for yourself what being a "witch" really means! This tour is not haunted. Open 7 days a week. This tour operates days only during October until late in the month.

Monday - Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Salem Wax Museum

This compelling museum is a self-guided tour through Salem's varied and colorful history! From it's founding in 1626 to the terrors of the Witchcraft Hysteria of 1692 — come face to face with some of the notable figures of Salem's history — from famed novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne to New England pirates and then onto those accused of practicing witchcraft during the 1692 hysteria as depicted by London made wax figurines. A separate hands-on activity area offers visitors the chance to make their own souveniers and the Wax Museum gift shop is the largest in Salem and chock full of unique New England maritime gifts! Not haunted in October, open 7 days a week with extended hours in October.

The Haunted Witch Village

When the Witches are away the ghouls will play! Come and see what happens when our Witches leave the Village and darkness descends. Frights abound in every nook and crevice as ghastly ghouls look to see who will brave a walk through this eerie realm. Do you dare make this dark journey? Abandon all hope ye who enter here... Evenings and weekends through October. This is a "haunted house". Open evenings and weekends and all day and night in close proximity to Hallowe'en.

The Hall of Illusions

In October when darkness creeps across the Earth, the basement of the Wax Museum becomes a confusing and mind-altering den of feindish frenzy! Ghouls and goblins of every size and shape lurk in the labyrinth of terror! Disorienting twist and turns through the tunnels of the basement reveal horrors of one kind or another! The question remains — is it real or illusion? You be the judge... just beware that the occupants of the adjacent burial ground may have clawed their ways through the basement walls to confront those so-called fearless visitors that dare tread through the catacombs!! A "haunted" attraction. Please use your discretion — you know your children better than we. Available evenings and weekends through October, open all day and night in close proximity to Hallowe'en.

Ghostly Candlelit Walking Tours

Join with your guides as you travel into the dark city streets os Salem by candlelight to learn the haunted lore of this mystical place. Encounter spirits from the beyond through chilling tales of specters and possession. Do you dare walk between the worlds with those who can contact the ones who dwell beyond the world of the living? Come and find out amist the chills and thrills of Hallowe'en! Weekends through October. Not included in any ticket packages.

Beyond Broomsticks

If you came to Salem looking for Witches, then you've come to the right place! When the Village goes "haunted" the Witches move to the outdoors to meet and greet with our October visitors. Inside the tent meet with some of the Witches of Salem where they will gladly answer your questions about their beliefs and practices. On scheduled nights they will perform public rituals worshiping the Old Ones and casting spells. Lectures and workshops are also hosted in the tent. learn the truth about spells, what they are and how they work, what brooms, cauldrons and magic wands are really used for. What is a "witch" and how does one become such? Learn about the Witches' Wheel of the Year — a.k.a. the Witches' holidays. Guest psychics, tarot card and rune readers demonstrate their gifts and abilities and Witch vendors from around New England show their magickal wares. This tent is free of admission charge and open weekends through October.

Hot Apple Cinnamon Buns

There's nothing like piping hot cocoa and warm, lucious buns on those cold New England autum nights! Warm up to the delectable treats offered by our friends from Maine where these delicacies are truly "down home". Hot Coffee, cinnamon buns and vanilla ice cream, cocoa and candy apples, warm fresh baked cookies and more await your appetite and will warm your cheeks from the October chill! Smiles and friendly chat are complimentary of course!
